’83 is a Cold War–gone–hot, 40 vs 40 combined-arms, first-person tactical shooter that pits two teams of players against each other in massive battles across sprawling maps, fighting over objectives designed to reward the team with better strategy, coordination, and teamwork to seize the day.
Designed with accessible realism for the most enjoyable experience that gets you to the action fast without losing that realistic feel and depiction of the true lethality of war.
In 83, you’ll be able to play as either the United States Army or the Soviet Ground Forces, the two core factions available in 83’s Early Access launch.
The game includes a selection of core infantry squad roles such as Rifleman, Machine Gunner, Marksman, Grenadier, and Anti-Tank, as well as Special Forces, Squad Leader and Commander roles for those looking to coordinate the action, take strategic control of the battlefield and call in off-map fire support.
‘83 has been designed to be mindful of your time, with matches lasting around 30-40 minutes.
We currently do not support controllers.
Effective use of tanks and dealing with tanks involves skills based on a) knowledge of the varying armour thicknesses and vulnerable spots, b) effective use of various forms of ammunition (HEAT, APFSDS, etc.) and, most importantly, c) effective communication between the tank crew members.

FAQs: Early Access
Find answers to common questions about the Early Access launch of 83.
’83 launches in Early Access on April 23rd 2026.
At Early Access, ’83 delivers the foundation of the full experience: large-scale 40 vs 40 tactical FPS battles set in an alternate Cold War timeline.
Early Access is just the beginning and player feedback will directly shape our development, be instrumental in balancing, as well as play a part in deciding what new content will be developed, and in general help define our priorities as we expand upon ‘83 towards our full launch, with additional maps, modes, and factions planned.
We will release details of a regular cadence of free updates post Early Access launch, adding new weapons, maps, and factions. More details about the post-launch roadmap can be found on the roadmap page.
There will also be the option to purchase historically authentic in-game cosmetics with no effect on gameplay balance.
'83 retails at $29.99 US with regional variations. There is a 10% discount in the first week after Early Access launch.
